K. Kavitha is Telangana’s first Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter. Stanley Girls’ School was where she received her education. She went on to VNRVJIET for her engineering degree. She received her Master’s degree from American University in 2001. She adopted various villages in the Nalgonda area in 2006 and educated the locals for free to help disadvantaged children. The Telangana movement gained traction the next year when Mr Chandrashekhar Rao resigned from the Union Cabinet to express his strong opposition to the Central Government’s failure to honour its vow to build a separate Telangana State. This inspired millions of Telangana citizens, some of whom even quit their jobs to join the campaign.

Achievements K. Kavitha took the initiative to train Telangana’s youth in order to prepare them for productive jobs. TelanganaJagruthi Skill Centers are now training 8500 students around the state and assisting them with job placement.
Kavitha took the form of TelanganaJagruthi in August 2006, inspired by the continuing people’s fight for Telangana statehood and a strong desire to work for the people’s benefit. TelanganaJagruthi played a crucial role in rallying support from young, women, and even large parts of the society, which served as a source of strength in the peaceful and non-violent campaign for Telangana’s independence.
From 2009 to 2014, she was an active participant in the Telangana state movement. She was elected to the 16th LokSabha in 2014, representing the NizamabadLokSabha Constituency.
