Darshana Jar dosh is an Indian female politician, who became a Lok Sabha member in the year 2009. She is presently providing her duties as Union State Minister of Railways and Union State Minister of Textiles. At first, she took part in the Lok Sabha Surat constituency, Gujarat in a poll. Darshana is a representative of the BJP and was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in an election in 2009. She won the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 and then in 2019, she won the 17th election as well.
Personal Life, Education, and Marriage
Darshana was born on 21st January in the year 1961, in Surat, Gujarat. She completed her schooling. Thereafter, she opted for B. Com with Economics and Banking from K.P College of Commerce in Surat. She even did a Certificate Course in Computers from NIIT.
She got married to Shri Vikram Jardosh in 1981. The couple has two sons.
Career in Politics
In 2009, Darshana requested the ministry to set up an international airport in Surat, Gujrat so that the business can boost the diamond trade.
In 2012, she denounced a Congress MP named Tushar Chaudhary for intentionally trying to take credit for airport establishments and connectivity to Surat. On this project, Darshana and Navsari MP CR Patil ran campaigns.
In 2014, Darshana was re-elected as an MP in the Lok Sabha election for Surat. She won with an extraordinary surplus of 5,33,190 votes. It is counted as the greatest and highest votes received by any woman MP in Indian Electoral History after Indira Gandhi.
She has been even the 4th highest lead in the 2014 elections, recording 76.6% votes in the 2014 elections.
In the 2019 Surat MP re-election, Darshana won with 7,95,651 votes and became a member of Lok Sabha.
