Patta Chitta is the official legal document that comprises essential information on land or property issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Specifically, Patta establishes ownership/title of land in the state, whereas a Chitta is a take out from the Patta register that provides ownership details to individuals.

Steps to view Patta Chitta online

Step 1: Visit the E-Services portal of the Tamil Nadu Government at eservices.tn.gov.in.

Step 2: Click ‘View Patta Chitta’ from the home page dashboard.

Step 3: Follow the redirection and enter a few details on the new page. These details include taluka, district, village etc. Besides this, select ‘Survey Number’ or ‘Patta Number’ and finally click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Step 4: After successfully submitting details, individuals will get every detail about their concerned land.

Individuals can also verify their Patta Chitta through the same portal. To verify details, they have to follow some simple steps.

Steps to verify Patta Chitta details online 

Step 1: Visit the E-Services website of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Step 2: Click on ‘Verify Patta/Chitta’.

Step 3: Enter “Reference Number” in the box and click ‘Submit’ to verify details.

However, applicants looking to apply for TN Patta Chitta online can use this online portal of the Tamil Nadu Government.

Steps to apply for TN Patta Chitta

Step 1: Visit the website of Tamil Nadu Land Records.

Step 2: Then, log in to your official account.

Step 3: Next, click on ‘View Patta & FMB/Chitta/TSLR Extract’ from the menu.

Step 4: Enter the area and district name of the land and then click ‘Submit’.

Step 5: Select the ‘Village’ and ‘Taluk’ from the dropdown menu.

Step 6: If the ‘Survey Number’ option is selected, enter the ‘Sub Division Number’ and the ‘Survey Number’. But, if ‘Patta Number’ is selected, enter the required number. Finally, authenticate the value and click ‘Submit’ to apply.

Step 7: After successful submission, applicants will receive their TN Patta certificate.
