Bhoot is an Indian Hindi language horror mystery thriller movie based on supernatural powers. The movie was released on 30 May 2003. It is produced by Nitin Manmohan and directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The lead stars of the movie include Ajay Devgan and Urmila Matondkar. The movie also has a sequel named Bhoot Returns. Urmila Matondkar won two Bollywood Movie Awards, one Star Screen Awards, and Zee Cine Awards for Best Actress for the movie. Ram Gopal Varma was awarded the Bollywood Movie Awards for Best Director. The movie revolves around a married couple named Vishal and Swati. Vishal is a stock analyst who is searching for an apartment in Mumbai. Coincidentally, he finds an apartment at a very low price. At first, Vishal doubts as he gets the apartment at a low price but the caretaker of the apartment tells him previously a widow murdered her son and committed suicide. Vishal didn’t tell this his wife and they shifted into the apartment. But soon Swati gets to know the secret of the residence by the caretaker. Later, Swati starts experiencing strange things in the house. She shares this with Vishal but he doesn’t take her seriously. Further, Vishal witnesses Swati’s strange and weird behavior. But soon, he witnessed Swati murdering the watchman. Bhoot was a hit at the box office. The plot of the movie was outstanding and full of thrill. The movie is worth watching because it will not let your eyes off-screen. Overall, the movie is scary and breathtaking; however, the climax of the movie was quite disappointing which could have been more effective.
